Career Lunchtime Speaker for Students
Court Reporter - Feb 5th

Do you know what you want to do after high school?  Want to find out more about a specific profession?  Bring your lunch and come to the FREE Career Lunch Presentation.  Come and ask the professionals in the field all about their careers. What are the necessary qualifications?  What are the salary and growth options?  What are positives & negatives of the profession?  What should you do to prepare for this career?

Court reporters capture the spoken word using a stenotype machine and prepare transcripts of court hearings, depositions, and a variety of other settings. Did you know that closed-captioning on TV is provided by a court reporter? Many career choices: working full time in court with full benefits, working as a freelance reporter and choosing the number of days you work per week, or even doing live closed-caption broadcasting from the comfort of home. The earning potential is fantastic, and as there is a shortage of court reporters right now, there is a demand now more than ever, which is not changing anytime soon. If interested in finding out more, please come to the speaker event.
