Check your shoe closet and consider donating 1-3 pairs of gently used shoes to be reused in Africa and South America. Drop off your bag of shoes at Northwood's front office no later than Tuesday, October 27, 8:00 AM. Thank YOU for your participation in this fundraiser!

to Talk about the Difficult Journey of Parenting Teenagers.

Author of the book, The Journey of the Heroic Parent, Dr. Brad Reedy is Co-owner and Clinical Director of Evoke Therapy Programs, which provides outdoor-based therapy for adolescents, young adults and families. Brad returns to Irvine, where he grew up as a child. Embattled in drug abuse and after a nearly fatal drug overdose, Brad dropped out of Irvine High School in his sophomore year. He embarked on a journey that eventually led him to a Ph.D. in Marriage and Family Therapy and the founding of a therapy program for teens and families. 16th Annual NHS Baseball Christmas Tree, Wreath and Garland Sales

With the Holidays right around the corner, the Boys Baseball team is once again sponsoring its Christmas tree, wreath and garland sales fundraiser. In addition, we are conducting a Christmas Tree drive to help out the Wounded Warriors and military families at Camp Pendleton who cannot afford to buy a tree this holiday season. So please don't wait! Time is running out, as sales will end on November 6th.

Parents, bring your teens with you to a special Master Drive presentation at Northwood High School on Thursday, October 22, at 6:30 PM in the theater.  Hear shocking statistics about the risks to teen drivers. Find out what a teen driver needs to learn (limitations of the road conditions, dynamics of a vehicle in motion, etc.) to become a safe driver. Fall Conference Week
Hope all students, parents and teachers had productive conferences last week! Thank you to Hospitality Co-Chairs Debra Kam and Patty Schell for organizing the Staff Appreciation Luncheon. Special thanks to NHS parents for the delicious baked goods and for helping on-site and to Romano's Macaroni Grill of Huntington Beach for their generous discount and for providing several coupons for a drawing.

NHS Class of 2016 Grad Night is hosting an all-day fundraiser at BJ's Restaurant in the Irvine Market Place on Thursday, October 8
