Enjoy the annual NHS Jazz at the Oak this Friday, May 13th, starting at 5:30 PM!Jazz at the Oak is a free outdoor concert which features the Sierra Vista Jazz Band and Northwood's Award Winning Jazz Musicians! Bring a lawn chair and blanket and sit back and enjoy an incredible night of jazz music. You can also enjoy a great meal from one of the gourmet food trucks and join the fun by entering the opportunity drawing to win great prizes! Are You Considering a Career in Global Business Development or Corporate Law? Come meet Jason Weintraub, Director of International Development at Taco Bell Corporation.

Jason Weintraub leads the international corporate strategy and development function for Taco Bell Corp. In this role, he develops and implements global brand expansion strategies, including corporate and franchise unit development, acquisitions, and new market entry. Mr. Weintraub also served as an attorney, leading the law department's transactional practice. He received his Juris Doctor degree from Berkeley Law (Boalt Hall - University of California) and his undergraduate degree in political science from Stanford University. Grad Night Tickets are Still on Sale!

Attention Parents:
Some Great Volunteer Opportunities!
The Northwood High School PTSA Student Store sells healthy snacks, drinks and spiritwear Monday-Friday during lunch time. We are in need of parent volunteers for next year for the following positions:
* Volunteer Coordinator: Coordinates parent volunteers that are working at the student store by setting up a monthly calendar.
* Student Store Manager: Works directly with volunteer coordinator and shoppers to make sure all is running smoothly throughout the year, is responsible for checking and approving warrants turned in from shoppers, organizes price lists and products in the store as needed, communicates with PTSA liaison, sets up committee meeting in the Fall to ensure a smooth start for the year and sends out emails periodically to the parent volunteers.
* Shoppers: Purchase items from Costco, Smart & Final and other local venues for the student store as needed. Hours are flexible. If interested, please contact Sandy Aicher (aicher@cox.net) or Satomi Connelly (satomiusa@yahoo.com)

Steve Churm serves as the Chief Communications Officer for FivePoint and is responsible for overseeing the company's communications externally and internally. He has more than 35 years of media and communications experience as a journalist, business owner, and media executive in California. Churm is a respected leader within the media industry regionally and nationally and currently serves on four nonprofit boards: Orange County Business Council, The Values Institute, Orange County United Way, and Global Grins. IUCPTA Scholarship
The Irvine Unified Council PTA will be offering one $500 scholarship at each high school in Irvine to a graduating senior who has performed service activities inside and outside of school. To qualify for the scholarship, applicants must be a current student in good standing at one of the IUSD high schools, be a current PTSA member, and submit the scholarship application by April 30, 2016.

Northwood Athletic Boosters is pleased to offer three $500 scholarships to Northwood seniors:

Mike Dunn Athlete of the Year - female
Mike Dunn Athlete of the Year - male

Considering a Career in Writing for Television or Film?
Come meet Muffy Marracco - Writer, Scribe, Wordsmith and Woman of the World!
When: Tuesday, April 12
Time: During lunch, 11:50 a.m. - 12:25 p.m.
Where: College & Career Center, room 1035
Muffy Marracco is a Los Angeles-based writer. She has experience writing, editing, and proofreading all matter of written material, including screenplays, articles, and books. Her first script, "Girl's Best Friend," was produced by the Lifetime Network starring Janeane Garofalo and a dog. She graduated from Brown University with a dual concentration in Anthropology and American Studies, and she received a master's degree from the International Graduate Program of Stockholm University.
